Cano Cardenas, co-founder of Blu Coffee Co., brings over nine years of abundant experience as a coffee roaster, consultant, and barista for multiple esteemed brands across San Diego and Mexico. In addition to his role at Blu Coffee Co., Cano owns and operates his coffee roasting company, Caffeine & GREEN.

As a testament to his skills and unwavering dedication, Cano's café was not just recognized, but ranked #2 in San Diego by Yelp and Fox 5 News in 2022 and 2023.

Our other co-founder, Alex Emmert, is a long time coffee connoisseur with a passion for connecting with others over a warm cup. With almost 15 years of experience in the coffee industry, he's honed his skills to craft the perfect coffee and has developed a knack for striking up conversations that leave you feeling like you've known him for years. When he's not brewing up a storm, Alex loves to chat with fellow coffee lovers, swap stories, and make new friends. He's all about creating a cozy atmosphere where everyone feels at ease, and his infectious smile is just the start of it.
